Weekending- Mother's Day edition!

What a wonderful weekend!  This was truly one of the most enjoyable weekends I've had in a long time.  Don't get me wrong- the kids were still crazy.  They still fought over Legos, ran screaming through the house with no clothes on, and jumped on the couch.  There were quite a few time outs and tantrums.  Yet somehow,  all this seemed to bother me slightly less this weekend!  Maybe it was the magic of Mother's day or the amazing weather.  Maybe it's because the trees finally have leaves and all the cherry and apple trees are in bloom with their beautiful pink and white blossoms. Or maybe it's because we're going to Disney in two and a half weeks (woo hoo)!  Whatever it was, I am grateful and truly blessed!

Magic bands have arrived!  2 weeks!  Eeeek!!

Friday night we went to Lowes and picked up a gazebo for our deck.  I LOVED IT.  I loved it all 16 hours we had it.  Long story short, half of it blew off our deck!  I was devastated.  But thankfully Lowes took it back and we ended up getting a bigger and better one.

Saturday my parents came up to visit.  We went to Nick's T ball game and then came back to our house for lunch.  We grilled out (thank you to the hubs for making some delicious ka-bobs and being the grill master) and enjoyed the gazebo (it blew away about an hour after they left).  It was an absolutely GORGEOUS day.  The weather was perfect and it was so nice to see my parents and spend time together.  Saturday night we watched movies and had popcorn (per Nick's request).

Sunday I got to sleep in (hooray!) and then we headed to one of my favorite places for a Mother's day brunch.  Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE brunch?  Well, I do!!  After all that deliciousness, we went to Lowes to get our new gazebo and did some flower and vegetable shopping.  Then we hit our favorite ice cream spot on the way home.  The rest of the day was spent relaxing.  I gave myself a new Jamicure and caught up on some of my favorite blogs.  Perfect, perfect, perfect!!

Flowers and brunch with my family...my favorite!

Love my jams!

I hope you all had an amazing weekend and that all you mommys out there got some time to relax, sleep in, and enjoy some good food!  And if you did, please tell me all about it in the comments!!

Oh, and one more thing!!  I FINALLY started a Facebook page for my blog!  So if you care to, please give my page a LIKE!!   Thanks so much!!!

  7. Life as I know it sounds like a wonderful way to share your diary. Of course, diaries of old used to contain personal thoughts on all sorts of subjects unsuitable for other eyes. Hehe. But the concept is the same. I'll like your Fb page.

    1. Yes, that is so true! Luckily I won't be writing anything on here that I need to lock away with a key or hide under my mattress (did I really think my brother wouldn't find it under there?)! Thanks for stopping by to comment and liking my FB page!
