Friday Favorites

It's been another busy week and yet again my blog has been neglected! So today's Friday favorites also serve as a recap of the week!  Let's get started!!

1.  Haunted Hayride!

Saturday night the ladies and I went out to dinner and on a Haunted Hayride.  I'll be honest- I've been on this hayride before and thought it was a bit lame.  But still, it seemed like a really fun girls' night out!  Well, as expected, the hayride was lame.  BUT...they added some Haunted Houses you go through at the end of the hayride and those were great!  I was pleasantly surprised (and scared).  It was a great night with good friends, good food and lots of spooky scares!

Apparently if you stand in the back where I am you look like a ghost!! #badlighting

2.  Pre-Halloween Trick or Treat
Sunday we headed to my parents to celebrate my dad's birthday and also to take the kids "family" trick or treating,  Since we live about an hour and a half away from my family, I thought it would nice to have the kids dress up in their costumes so their aunts and grandparents could see them.  Aren't they adorable :)  I also LOVE this pic of Alec eating Bampa's ice cream birthday cake!

My scarecrow

The "Pirate Skeleton"

Alec lovin himself some ice cream cake!

3.  My new mug
As I mentioned last week, I was part of a mug swap hosted by A Tiny Traveler.  Well this past weekend I got my mug and I LOVE IT!!  I was also sooo excited to see it was from Rebecca from The Adventures of Bug and Boo!  I love Rebecca's blog and have so enjoyed reading and learning about her, her family, and her adventures in England and now back in the USA!  Thanks Rebecca!

4.  Treat Time
I wanted to make something cute and easy for the kids to bring to their Halloween party at daycare.  So off to Pinterest I went and found this beauty.

Well, when I went shopping for supplies (yesterday) I was on my lunch hour from work and had limited time.  I couldn't find any googly eyes at Target so I had to improvise.  So this is what I came up with.  Not quite Pinterest worthy, but a valiant effort nonetheless!

5.  Stratton Mountain Fall Festival
OK, this one wasn't technically from this past week, but it was recent and I  didn't get a chance to blog about it.  It was definitely one of my favorites from this fall!  We had a great time with our good friends, we had good food to eat, and I enjoyed some reallly good hard cider (as evidenced by the picture below)!!!  The day we spent at the mountain was the perfect fall day.  It was crisp and cool but sunny, and the leaves were at their peak.  Hubs and I sat in Adirondack chairs for a good 2 hours relaxing, listening to the live bands, and enjoying some selections from the Brewfest!

Gettin a little crazy

I forgot how good hard cider is!

Posing with the hubs
That's it for this week friends.  Can you believe it is already Halloween???  Before we know it, it will be Thanksgiving and then Christmas!  Yikes!  But for now, I hope you have an amazing (and safe) Halloween!  We can't wait to head out and go trick or treating!!

Friday Favorites- I'm so excited!

It's time for another round of Friday Favorites!  Hooray!  Let's jump right in!

Number 1:  My new bracelet
Silver Blessed Inspiration Bangle | Stella & Dot
This is the BLESSED inspiration bracelet from Stella & Dot.  I ordered it on a whim from a friend who was having a party and I'm so glad I did!  It's even prettier in person!  And it serves as such a good reminder that I am blessed and have so many blessings!

Number 2:  Noosa yogurt
Has anyone else tried this stuff?  It is sooo good!  I am not a huge fan of Greek yogurt but this Australian style yogurt is delish!  It's creamy, smooth and fruity.  It's only available at Target and on the Noosa website.  My favorite so far is the raspberry.  It's 280 calories per 8 oz container,  but it's got 14 grams of protein!

Check out their site at:  http://www.noosayoghurt.com/   - There is even a 55 cent off coupon you can download on their website.

Number 3:  Darth Vader desk lamp
I started my Christmas shopping this week with this Darth Vader desk lamp!  Nick will LOVE it!!  It's normally around $50 but I found it on Zulily for $32.99.  Score!!

Number 4:  This purse
This is my first purchase of a Tignanello purse.  What do you think?  I thought it was super cute and I cannot wait to get it (please Mr. Mailman...hurry up!). Any else on the Tignanello bandwagon?

Number 5:  I'm a new Jamberry consultant!
This should probably be #1 because I am sooo excited!   I decided to take my love of Jamberrys to the next level... the consultant level!  LOL  In all seriousness, I truly love the product and am excited to introduce it to everyone!   I am going to be doing exclusively online parties, so whether you live in Maine or Mississippi, I can do a party for you!  I am brand spanking new at this (I just became official today!), and would love some suggestions/advice from other Jamberry consultants (I know there's a lot of you out there in bloggie world).  I also would LOVE to book some parties!!!  Or if you're not interested  in a party, maybe you could like my Facebook page?  It would make me so happy!  :)  Thanks friends!

Love this look!

Well, that's it friends.  It has been an exhausting and full week and I am looking forward to the weekend (which will also be jam packed but with lots of FUN stuff)!  Have a wonderful weekend!!

Currently - Round 2

Yup, I think it's time for another Currently post!

Thinking:  So many things... That I wish it was Thursday night, because if it was, I would be working from home tomorrow!  I love working from the comfort of my couch in my jammies once a week!!   That I need to start my Christmas shopping. That I need the kids to try on their Halloween costumes and make sure they fit. About becoming a Jamberry consultant.   Also thinking about the shootings in Ottawa today. Prayers go out to my Canadian friends.

Listening:  To the wind gusts outside.  To the 11pm news.  I really just want to hear the weather report.  Everything else is just too depressing these days  :(

Feeling:   Tired.  It's 11pm but I don't want to go to sleep.  I get such little time to myself, it's hard to give it up just to go to bed.  And the sooner I go to bed, the sooner 6am rolls around and I have to get up!

Hoping:  For good weather this weekend.  Nick's last soccer game is Saturday morning and I have a girls night out planned for Saturday night.  We're going on a haunted hayride so I'm really hoping for no rain!

Wanting:  A cleaning lady!!   Currently,  there are toys all over the floor, half drank juice boxes and straw wrappers on my coffee table and about 100 tiny Lego pieces on my fireplace mantel.  Seriously, I just can't keep up with the mess that 3 boys (yup-adding the hubs in there) and a 100 pound dog make!

Needing:  To get my jewelry organized.  My jewelry is in random locations in my bedroom, bathroom, and closet!  'm thinking of making my own DIY jewelry holder similar to this:

Or this:

Wearing:  Purple plaid PJ pants and a gray and white stripped Gap longsleeved tee.   Oh yeah, it's gettin fancy up in here! HA!!

Loving:   My super soft and cozy blanket. I think it's time for bed!

Good night friends!

Weekend with my boys

I have to say, this was such a lovely weekend!  The hubs was up north hunting so it was just me and the boys.  Normally the thought of managing 2 kids, a dog, a cat and a house by myself for the weekend makes my head spin!  But somehow this weekend was different.  The boys were so well behaved and actually got along!  Was it because I bribed my son with a trip to Target to buy Legos if he behaved and was nice to his brother? Maybe.  Well, probably.   OK DEFINITELY!   But a mamas got to do what a mamas got to do.  It was actually quite amazing.   As soon as he heard "Target" and "lego" he ran upstairs, got himself dressed and cleaned his room.  And I didnt even ask him to!

Friday night we watched Monsters Inc and just relaxed.  Saturday was a busy day.  I made breakfast...pancakes, sausage and eggs.  Yum!  We bailed on soccer because it was cold and rainy.  Nick had an outdoor playdate scheduled for the afternoon but since the weather was nasty we switched it up and found a fun indoor place with tunnels, slides and nerf balls!  Nick had such a fun time!  His play date was with his bestie from his old daycare.  He has really missed him and was looking forward to playing with him all week.  The two of them ran around like crazy men and had an absolute blast!  I loved seeing Nuck so happy.   And, it was nice to sit back and relax a little bit with the other mamas!

Alec got to stay at Miss Sommer's house while Nick and I were on his playdate. It looks like Alec had a great time too!  Miss Sommer even sent us home with some cookies!

After we picked Alec up, off to Target we went!  Nick got his special Lego and I got some last minute items for dinner. We invited one of my girlfriends over and had a taco and wine party (tacos and juice for the kids)!   It was lots of fun and great to catch up with my friend!

Sunday morning daddy got home but not before we had some silly fun.

I had some alone time at the grocery store (hey, I'll take what I can get), cleaned, did laundry and all my usual Sunday chores.  We watched endless Halloween specials (Spookley at least 3 times and a Spongebob Halloween marathon), cozied up under warm blankets and just enjoyed the day together.  My favorite kind of weekend!

Friday Favorites- I almost forgot!

I was just about to shut off my computer and head to bed when I realized...I DIDN'T DO MY FRIDAY FAVORITES!!!!  This week has been so busy (and I've been focusing on my online Jamberry party) so my poor little blog has been neglected.  I'll try to do better next week!  So here it is... My Friday Favorites!!!

1.  This picture
This boy cracks me up!!  This was his "baking apple bread" outfit.  Priceless!

2. This hand cream
Yes, I know.  I am allll about Jamberry lately.  But I really love this stuff!  So much so that I'm seriously considering becoming a consultant (more on that later).  Anyway, Jamberry has this lovely hand cream that used to only be available as part of a hand care set, but now is being sold on it's own! And you get a full 8 ounces!  I am very particular about my hand cream so if I'm endorsing it,  you know it's good!  It smells great, keeps my hands SUPER SOFT and it contains no parabens!!

3.  Favorite purchase
I just got this handmade sign in black from Cynthiaswoodensigns on Etsy.  I love it!  I am in the process of making a display/photo collage wall and this will be part of it!

Lovely Handmade family sign made from pallets

4,  Mug Swap
I am taking part in my 2nd mug swap and this mug was just shipped to my swap partner today.  She likes purple, flowers, art and gardening.  I thought this mug was perfect.  AND, it's another Etsy purchase (LaPerlaPottery)!  Do you think she'll like it?  I am anxiously awaiting to see what mug I will get!!  Has anyone else taken part in a mug swap?

Colorful Purple Flowered Mug

I also sent her these super cute mug rugs.  Yup, found them on Etsy (QuiltsbyLaTanya)!!

Set of Two Coffee Mug Rug

And while we're on the topic of mug rugs, let's make that my #5!  I think these things are so cute and a nice alternative to the traditional coaster.  There are no many people making these on Etsy and so many cute patterns.  Any else using a mug rug?  I think this one is going to be my next purchaseI

Coffee mug rug, mocha java mug mat in green, gold, blue, brown, and turquoise, snack and beverage mat

So there you have it!  Hope you all have a lovely weekend!!

Friday Favorites!

I am so excited for Friday!!  And to do another Friday favorites post!  I love sharing my favorites with you and reading all yours!

Number 1:  H.M Willow Bangles
I discovered H.M. Willow through another blogger's site.  Unfortunately, I can't remember which one!  These are gorgeous bangles and very well priced.  I just ordered my first 2 this week and I cannot wait to get them!  Here are a couple examples from their website with the link to the bangle on their site.

Number 2: JAMBERRYS!!!

I was a little hesitant to try these, but y'all, I AM ON THE JAMBERRY TRAIN!!!  I love love love these things!  I love them so much in fact, I am having an online party!!  So if anyone is interested in trying them out (or just in furthering your obsession), leave me a message in the comments and I will send you a link to the party.  BTW...Jamberrys are buy 3, get 1 free right now!

Number 3:  Apple picking!

On Sunday we had the chance to go apple picking (see my post HERE).  Apple picking is one of my favorite fall activities with the family!  We all had a great time and have been enjoying some delicious New York state apples!

Number 4:  Creating with Nick!

I found this awesome Haunted House kit the other day at Hannaford.  Who even knew they made these things?!  Nick has begged me every night to make it, so last night we did.  I am so happy he is becoming more interested in baking/decorating!  It opens up so many more activities we can do together.  We have been having a ton of fun making Halloween treats the past couple of weeks.

The finished product

Number 5:  Overnight in Vermont!

The hubs and I are taking a little overnight trip to VT this weekend.  I am sooo excited!  This is the absolute best time to visit VT in my opinion.  The weather is great and the foliage is beautiful!  I think the leaves should be at peak so I am hoping to get some great photos.

Hope you all have an amazing weekend!  Do you have any special plans?  Leave me a comment and let me know!

Family traditions- Apple picking!

One of my absolute favorite family fall activities is apple picking.  It has become a tradition for our little family and I hope it continues for a long time!  Sunday was the big day and the weather was perfect- bright and sunny with a bit of a chill to the air.  Perfect weather for a hoodie and my new Toms boots!  We all piled in the truck and off we went!

The only problem with apple picking on Sunday was that it appeared the ENTIRE COUNTY had the same idea!!  We waited in line, on the road, in our truck, for about 40 minutes,  UGH  But, once we finally did get inside, we had a great time!  The kids had a blast running around, picking apples, and especially eating apples.  It's quite possible we ate more apples than we actually picked!   We did get quite a haul though (and some cider donuts and cider too!) so I will be scouring Pinterest looking for some delicious apple recipes!!!

Have you been apple picking yet?  If not, you should go!!  Do you have any other special fall family traditions?  What about some apple recipe recommendations?
