Friday Favorites- I almost forgot!

I was just about to shut off my computer and head to bed when I realized...I DIDN'T DO MY FRIDAY FAVORITES!!!!  This week has been so busy (and I've been focusing on my online Jamberry party) so my poor little blog has been neglected.  I'll try to do better next week!  So here it is... My Friday Favorites!!!

1.  This picture
This boy cracks me up!!  This was his "baking apple bread" outfit.  Priceless!

2. This hand cream
Yes, I know.  I am allll about Jamberry lately.  But I really love this stuff!  So much so that I'm seriously considering becoming a consultant (more on that later).  Anyway, Jamberry has this lovely hand cream that used to only be available as part of a hand care set, but now is being sold on it's own! And you get a full 8 ounces!  I am very particular about my hand cream so if I'm endorsing it,  you know it's good!  It smells great, keeps my hands SUPER SOFT and it contains no parabens!!

3.  Favorite purchase
I just got this handmade sign in black from Cynthiaswoodensigns on Etsy.  I love it!  I am in the process of making a display/photo collage wall and this will be part of it!

Lovely Handmade family sign made from pallets

4,  Mug Swap
I am taking part in my 2nd mug swap and this mug was just shipped to my swap partner today.  She likes purple, flowers, art and gardening.  I thought this mug was perfect.  AND, it's another Etsy purchase (LaPerlaPottery)!  Do you think she'll like it?  I am anxiously awaiting to see what mug I will get!!  Has anyone else taken part in a mug swap?

Colorful Purple Flowered Mug

I also sent her these super cute mug rugs.  Yup, found them on Etsy (QuiltsbyLaTanya)!!

Set of Two Coffee Mug Rug

And while we're on the topic of mug rugs, let's make that my #5!  I think these things are so cute and a nice alternative to the traditional coaster.  There are no many people making these on Etsy and so many cute patterns.  Any else using a mug rug?  I think this one is going to be my next purchaseI

Coffee mug rug, mocha java mug mat in green, gold, blue, brown, and turquoise, snack and beverage mat

So there you have it!  Hope you all have a lovely weekend!!

Friday Favorites!

I am so excited for Friday!!  And to do another Friday favorites post!  I love sharing my favorites with you and reading all yours!

Number 1:  H.M Willow Bangles
I discovered H.M. Willow through another blogger's site.  Unfortunately, I can't remember which one!  These are gorgeous bangles and very well priced.  I just ordered my first 2 this week and I cannot wait to get them!  Here are a couple examples from their website with the link to the bangle on their site.

Number 2: JAMBERRYS!!!

I was a little hesitant to try these, but y'all, I AM ON THE JAMBERRY TRAIN!!!  I love love love these things!  I love them so much in fact, I am having an online party!!  So if anyone is interested in trying them out (or just in furthering your obsession), leave me a message in the comments and I will send you a link to the party.  BTW...Jamberrys are buy 3, get 1 free right now!

Number 3:  Apple picking!

On Sunday we had the chance to go apple picking (see my post HERE).  Apple picking is one of my favorite fall activities with the family!  We all had a great time and have been enjoying some delicious New York state apples!

Number 4:  Creating with Nick!

I found this awesome Haunted House kit the other day at Hannaford.  Who even knew they made these things?!  Nick has begged me every night to make it, so last night we did.  I am so happy he is becoming more interested in baking/decorating!  It opens up so many more activities we can do together.  We have been having a ton of fun making Halloween treats the past couple of weeks.

Number 5:  Overnight in Vermont!

The hubs and I are taking a little overnight trip to VT this weekend.  I am sooo excited!  This is the absolute best time to visit VT in my opinion.  The weather is great and the foliage is beautiful!  I think the leaves should be at peak so I am hoping to get some great photos.

Hope you all have an amazing weekend!  Do you have any special plans?  Leave me a comment and let me know!

Family traditions- Apple picking!

One of my absolute favorite family fall activities is apple picking.  It has become a tradition for our little family and I hope it continues for a long time!  Sunday was the big day and the weather was perfect- bright and sunny with a bit of a chill to the air.  Perfect weather for a hoodie and my new Toms boots!  We all piled in the truck and off we went!

The only problem with apple picking on Sunday was that it appeared the ENTIRE COUNTY had the same idea!!  We waited in line, on the road, in our truck, for about 40 minutes,  UGH  But, once we finally did get inside, we had a great time!  The kids had a blast running around, picking apples, and especially eating apples.  It's quite possible we ate more apples than we actually picked!   We did get quite a haul though (and some cider donuts and cider too!) so I will be scouring Pinterest looking for some delicious apple recipes!!!

Have you been apple picking yet?  If not, you should go!!  Do you have any other special fall family traditions?  What about some apple recipe recommendations?

Fall weekend update- REVISED EDITION!

New and revised post!  Technical issue with my pictures has been resolved!

It's 10:15 pm as I write this and I am NOT happy that the weekend is over!  I could use another day or two of fun and relaxation!

Wanted to share a quick update of our weekend.

Friday night hubby was working late so it was just me and the boys.  We has tacos (Nick's favorite), watched Halloween shows (Toy Story of Terror and Spookley the Square Pumpkin) and decorated cupcakes.  Nick and I had a great time "dressing" the pumpkins as Nick called it.  Alec seemed to have a good time eating frosting!

Saturday...I'll be honest.  It started out a little rough.  It was raining and cold so soccer was cancelled.  And since it was raining and cold, the boys were stuck in the house all morning with nothing to do but terrorize themselves and their parents.  Well, mostly me as hubby was locked in the den doing school work.  By 12:30 I had had enough, so I put Alec down for a nap (with daddy) and Nick and I headed to Bounce Around at the mall (think multiple bounce houses and arcade games for little kids). After Nick had thoroughly bounced and was dripping with sweat, we headed to Menchie's for some frozen yogurt.
The sole picture from Bounce Around- the rest were blurry!

Yummmm

Saturday night hubby and I made some delicious BBQ chicken quesadillas. They were soooo good!  I will be sharing the recipe with you soon.   We watched Spookly the Square Pumpkin again, and then yet again.  Finally it was time for the kids to go to bed and the adults to relax and watch some non-Disney TV!

Sunday we woke up to a gorgeous day!  Bright, sunny and 60 degrees (I may be strange but I LOVE that kind of weather)!  Nick and I went to soccer and hubby stayed home with Alec.

Obligatory soccer pic  :)

After soccer we came home and got ready to go apple picking...one of my favorite family fall traditions!!!  I'll be doing a separate post tomorrow about our apple picking adventure.  Stop by and check it out!

After dinner and baths, guess what we did?  Watched Spookley the Square Pumpkin AGAIN!!  Nick now knows the songs by heart and I cannot get them out of my head!!!  HELP ME!!!!

Spookley the Square Pumpkin
It IS a cute show...the first 10 times you watch it!

Well friends, I hope you all have a wonderful week.   I am already looking forward to next weekend! Hubby and I are taking a little trip and I am very excited!  More about that later.   :)
Happy Monday!!

Friday Favorites- October Style

Just like everyone else, I am wondering how in the world we got to October already!  But I'm not complaining.   I love October weather,  October activities, and Halloween!  So in honor of this awesome month, I am giving you my Friday favorites OCTOBER STYLE!!

Let's jump right in!

1.  These awesome trick or treat buckets I purchased from De La Design (Etsy shop)

I just love this shop.  They have all sorts of things you can personalize.  I ordered personalized Easter baskets from them and also personalized tumblers.  Shipping is quick and they do a great job,  I can't wait for the boys to use these on Halloween!

2.  Halloween shows
I'm not talking the super scary stuff, I'm talking the fun stuff that you can watch with the kids.  Our current favorites are It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, Higglytown Heroes-Higgly Halloween and Toy Story of Terror.

3.  Darth Vader pumpkin push-ins
I don't know about your house, but Star Wars is pretty big around here.  Star Wars Legos is even bigger.  The other day I was at Lowe's and found this Darth Vader pumpkin push-in.  I knew Nick would go nuts for it so I picked it up.  I can't wait to make our Darth Vader Jack-O-Lantern!

4. Halloween decorations (of the melted plastic popcorn kind)
Now that we're in October, I feel that it is safe to put out my outdoor Halloween decorations without getting strange looks from the neighbors!  Does anyone else remember these melted plastic Halloween decorations?  When I was a kid, I LOVED these! I loved the colors, I loved the texture.   I would get so excited when my mom would take them out of storage and put them up for Halloween.  I few years ago I found some on Ebay that I purchased.  Unfortunately, we have moved a few times since then and they either got lost or thrown out.  BUT... I just ordered some off Ebay again!  They should be here early next week.  Hooray!!!

5.  Halloween treats
If you've been on Pinterest as much as I have lately, you've seen a million and one fall and Halloween recipes, treats, and crafts.  I've been looking for something cute and simple Nick and I could make together to give his friends at daycare during their Halloween party.  I found this pin for GHOSTLY GRUB.  Isn't it cute??  It also looks quick and easy enough to keep Nick's attention.  Win-win!

20 Easy Halloween Snacks - SNAP!

Last year we attempted spider cupcakes.  They weren't the prettiest things (c'mon, they were mostly made by a 3 year old!), but they were fun to make and Nick's friends seemed to enjoy them,

Well there you have it!  What are your October favorites?  I would love to hear!
