I didn't make any resolutions for 2016 because honestly, I never keep them. And why set myself up for failure?!
So instead, and to make it a little more manageable and realistic for myself, I am going to have monthly goals and "good stuff." Good stuff can be anything I deem "good" ... date nights, activities with the kids, etc that I want to do that month!
So here is the first installment...
January 2016 Goals and Good Stuff
GOALS:
1. Lose the 5 pounds I put on over the holidays. I need to lose a lot more than 5 pounds. But like I said. keeping it realistic and manageable!
2. Take down the 3 trees I put up and all the Christmas decorations. I have most of the decorations down, but I just haven't had the time or energy to take down the trees. I am really hoping to get this down this weekend!!
3. Decorate the house for Valentines Day
4. Start exercising. For this month, my goal is to take at least 2 long walks a week (I told ya, easy and manageable! And it's getting really cold out there!)
5. Eat healthier. More veggies and fruits. Limited sweets and reduced caffeine.
6. Buy lunch at work only 1x a week. This will save me some money, as well as help with my healthier eating goal.
GOOD STUFF:
1. Have 2 successful birthday parties! Alec's party is this weekend and Nick's is at the end of the month.
2. Go skiing (pending appropriate snowfall).
3. Take the kids tubing (again, pending appropriate snowfall)
4. Date night with the hubby
5. Have friends over for a game night
Check back at the end of the month to see how I did and see my Goals and Good Stuff for February!
Yay I love you're doing this too! Girl, I was all ready to go out and burn some calories and this week every morning has been 19/20 degrees.....oh heck no! xoxoxox Amanda
ReplyDeletegreat goals! My tree is STILL up! ha! I need to work out more.. I will say that I cut out a LOT of caffeine last year (I just have 1 cup of coffee in the morning then green tea if I feel like it) and I noticed a HUGE difference in how much better I felt! have a great month!
ReplyDeleteI love this approach! It is so much easier to get where you are going if you have small, achievable goals ahead of you versus one big, overwhelming goal. I hope 2016 is amazing for you! You've got this!
ReplyDeleteGreat goals! I think having manageable goals helps build success, and even blowing your goals out of the water. I'm inspired.
ReplyDeleteThese are some great goals (and not just because a lot of them are mine too)! Buying lunch is going to be the one I struggle with the most. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteGreat goals!!! I'm all about making goals and not resolutions myself.... Resolutions to me I feel are made to be broken lol... Now goals... You have to reach them ;-) I also have skiing on my goals list. I want to take my daughter soooo bad. That will be the only weekend you ever see my hoping for snow lol...
ReplyDeleteGreat goals! I love how you included a date night with hubby and a friends game night. This is a area my hubby talked about doing more of in 2016 as well. These will have to go on our list as well. Good Luck with your goals. I'm visiting today from the #taketime linkup.
ReplyDeleteThese are great lists! My husband and I are fortunate to be able to go out once a week together. I would love to have friends over for a game night! Sounds so fun! Thanks for linking up! #TakeTime
ReplyDeleteI think it's great to set goals for yourself. No need to call them "resolutions" :) Thanks for linking up with us!
