Wednesday afternoon I left work early to pick up the kiddos from daycare AND to try and get home before the worst of the snowstorm hit! I know it was a huge pain for those traveling on Wednesday, but I absolutely LOVED having a white Thanksgiving! It was so beautiful out! Today the snow has pretty much ALL melted away and I sad. I can't wait for the next snowstorm!
Wednesday night Nick and I also worked on some turkey crafts :)
Thursday was all about family and food. AND sledding! This is the first white Thanksgiving I can remember in a looong time and it was amazing! We had so much fun playing in the snow!
Friday morning we woke up to find that John the Elf had arrived and made us all breakfast!! And yes, I know, We are just soooo creative with our Elf name! :) Anyway, our North Pole breakfast was a HUGE hit and I definitely see it becoming an annual tradition! Besides making breakfast, John also gave the kids an ornament for the tree, an Elf for their room, and a jingle bell. Oh- and Rudolph gummies too!
After a delicious sugary breakfast, we headed out to get our Christmas tree! This is the first "live" tree we have gotten in like, 13 years?! I decided I wanted that amazing evergreen smell this year so we kept the artificial tree in the box in our basement. I wanted to go to a tree farm and cut down our own tree, but hubs wasn't having it. So I had to settle for picking one out from the greenhouse. Still lots of fun!
Saturday morning I had an early hair appointment, did some Christmas shopping, and then in the afternoon we had a wedding. My husband's cousin Kara got married and they had a lovely Adirondack mountain themed reception. It was really nice to see some of our extended family we haven't seen in a very long time! Virtually none of my picture came out, so this is all you're gonna get! :)
Sunday we had a family party and then Sunday night it was tree decorating time!!! I love our tree and I could sit and stare at it all day!
It was such a busy weekend but so much fun!!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend too and your December is off to a great start!
